Fredagens første "keynote speech"  var med Dr. Kaisa Kautto-Koivula, Senior Manager, Nokia Ventures Organisation. Hun fortalte om hvorledes Nokia havde arbejdet med vidensdeling på både nationalt og internationalt plan.

Hun er helt klart en meget vidende person indenfor sit område, men jeg fandt hendes betragtninger vedrørende sprogundervisning meget generelle.

Keynote: Future Learning Environments: Opportunities and Challenges

New technology and globalization have changed the way how we manage our knowledge in global organizations. Could we utilize the experiences from this change process for broader purposes?

Presenter

Dr. Kaisa Kautto-Koivula is senior manager at Nokia Ventures Organization (based in Finland). She is responsible for developing new Business Concepts (since 1999). Before that she has been responsible for Knowledge Management Development at Nokia Telecommunications since 1995 and Technology Education and Training since 1988.

She has advised the European Commission, the OECD, the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT), the European Roundtable of ICT Industry and the Finnish Government on issues such as skill requirements, future learning environments, organization and society knowledge management and education & learning services in Information Society. E.g. in 1997 she participated in the planning of European Commission's 5th Research Framework Program on Information Society. In 1998 she advised the Finnish Government on the development of a new Strategy for the Finnish Knowledge Society and she was also acting as a key advisors for the Ministry of Finnish Education in the development of the knowledge mgt strategy for Public Education and Research.

Ms. Kautto-Koivula is part-time docent of New Learning Environments (at work) at Tampere University, Finland and she is a member of Editorial Board for Journal of Knowledge Management.

Ms. Kautto-Koivula started her career as development engineer in industry and as senior research scientist at the Technical Research Centre of Finland from 1975-1987, where her main interests were Computer Aided Design and Artificial Intelligence, especially knowledge engineering.

Ms. Kautto-Koivula holds a B.Sc and M.Sc. in information technology, licentiate in knowledge engineering, as well as a doctorate in professional adult education.
