Baxter

Seaplane terminal next to my hotel

Today has been a busy day. Among other activities I have been in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. In order to go there I had a choice of either spending most of the day travelling by train, bus, and ferry or I could fly with a seaplane. What a choice:

Ready to take off! Ok. let the pilot in..

The seaplane was an old De Havilland Beaver. The Beaver planes are famous and has been in service all over Canada since 1947. The plane I flew in was a six seated model.

Soon we were airborne, I didn't even have to help!

Flying with one hand, impressive don't you think?

In Nanaimo I had a couple of arrangements. First I interviewed the Associate Director of the Sprott-Shaw Community College, which was the main reason for my going to Nanaimo. After that I had another interview with an interesting immigrant. More about that when I have edited the video tapes. All together I have so far recorded almost two hours of raw video

Back again!

In the afternoon I have interviewed a young person about what it is like to live in Vancouver
